Robert’s Maine Grill in Kittery, Maine has been offering their guests Maine comfort food and craft Maine beer for the past eight years. This January, Chef Brandon Blethen has challenged himself to create a meal specifically designed to showcase some of Maine’s best brews.
His menu includes smoked mussels and scallops, grilled hearts of romaine, and braised short ribs. Sister restaurant Lil’s Café Pastry Chef Jennifer Woods provides the dessert course – sticky toffee pudding. All courses will be paired with a featured Rising Tide beer and for a creative twist the sticky toffee pudding lists Ursa Minor Wheat Stout as one of the ingredients.
In addition to creating and cooking the menu Chef Brandon will be speaking as each dish is served; giving guests a glimpse into the methods behind creating and paring each dish. Guests will also have the pleasure of hearing Heather Sanborn from Rising Tide Brewing speak about the making of each beer choice which include Daymark Classic Ale, Zephyr India Pale Ale, Ishmael Ale and Ursa Minor Wheat Stout.
